2005 DAM LEGION OF MERIT
B-33036 ALLIANCE SPYCE LOM
(Farnley Spyglass x Bayside Lara)

Alliance Spyce LOM, a bay mare by Farnley Spyglass out of Bayside Lara, is a 1989 Section B mare who was bred by Mary Chisholm of Alliance Farm in Centreville, Maryland. She was purchased by Peggy Marshall of PM Ponies in 1993, as an un-started 4 year old. Spyce was started under saddle by Susie Weigand and broke to harness by Peggy Marshall.
Under the tutelage of Susie Weigand, Spyce competed in Adult Hunter and Pleasure. She also competed in short stirrup with Alison Ramsey and Small Hunter with William Bowling. Peggy and Susie competed Spyce in Combined Driving and Pleasure Driving.
After a fun and successful show career in performance and halter, Spyce started a new career as a broodmare in 1998. She has had three foals all by Severn Gambol -- an Individual and Sire Legion of Merit winner himself. These three foals constitute the three legs of her Dam Legion of Merit.
Her first foal, PM Everything Nice, a bay mare born in 1999 acquired 727 points shown in hand by Susie Weigand and by junior riders Lauren Drenning and Nathaniel Britell, in Short Stirrup, Pleasure and Small Hunter.
Spyce’s second foal, PM Legacy, a bay filly born in 2000, earned 539 points showing In-Hand and in the Adult Hunters by Susie Weigand and in the Small Hunters ridden by junior rider Rachael Stone.
Her final leg was accomplished by PM Spyderman, a 2002 dark bay gelding who earned 417 points showing In-Hand and 3 performance points in Pleasure as a three year old.
All of these Spyce babies inherited her wonderful versatility, trainability and athleticism. Spyce is back in foal to Severn Gambol for a 2006 foal.
