B-30256 BELVIDERE WUNDERBAR LOM
(*Findelm Cinnabar x Liseter Tuneful)

Margaret Almond writes ... Belvidere Wunderbar LOM was foaled in 1984. She is by Findeln Cinnabar and out of Liseter Tuneful (*Wickendon Osprey). In 1997, John and I and Louise Gill realized the need for larger ponies for the twins (Meg and Emily Gill). We started looking for a Section B mare and found Wendy here in Maryland. Amazingly all three of us agreed that we should purchase her. John drove down to the Shore a little later to get her and had the devil of a time loading the mare.
Our hopes for Wendy’s future almost came to a screeching halt when she proceeded to lie down for long stretches of time. People would drive into the barn and tell us we had a dead pony on the lawn. In fact what we had was a very severely foundered pony. I was afraid she’d walk right out of her hooves, when she stepped in mud the water would filter up and come out of her coronary bands. Long story short with dedicated care and the best farrier in the world Wendy healed. Any pony with less will to live would have succumbed to the disease.
Wendy’s first offspring for us was Loafers Lodge Arabella 1999 (Farnley Belshazzar). The other foals in order are Loafers Lodge Amadeus 2001 (*Salvandi Calidog), Loafers Lodge Onegin 2002 (*Rhoson Pushkin), Loafers Lodge Do It My Way 2003 (Rollingwoods Pick My Way), Loafers Lodge Waltzing Mathilda 2004 (Rosmel’s Dressed in Scarlet), Loafers Lodge Sweetness N Lite 2005 (Rosmel’s Dressed in Scarlet), and Loafers Lodge Black Eyed Susan 2006 (Rollingwoods Pick My Way).
Arabella and Onegin ridden by Meg and Emily Gill and Amadeus owned and ridden by Ashley Petersen garnered the 3 legs for Wendy’s award. Luckily for us we have four of Wendy’s "can do" offspring ready to make their mark in the show ring. We hope she has another foal or two for us.
