*CYFFYLLIOG PENDEFIG LOM, by Llanarth Meredith Ap Braint x Ionos Poppet by Llanarth Flying Comet, affectionately known as "Fig" was imported from the UK in 1982 as a yearling.  He made his show debut at the 1984 Olympic games at Santa Anita, Califonia in the Cavalcade of Horses.  At age three, Fig had been ridden very little.  His good behavior and bravery allowed him to enter the Olympic Arena under saddle and be a credit to the breed.   I believe he was the only Cob under saddle West of the Mississippi at that time.

Fig went on to show well both at Welsh shows and Open Shows for the next few years.  He is honored here and will be remembered, however, for his outstanding progeny.  Mary's Prince of Wales, Mary's Myfanwy, Heather Hill Glyn Owen, Mary's Roslyn, Molly's Valentine and Heather Hill Rhosyn have all been WPCSA National High Score winners, each produced by a different mare.  Some of Fig's get have excelled in other venues most notably Miss Annie who won the Novice division at the Ram Tap three day event two years running.  Many of Fig’s progeny are terrific family horses, not showing, but being enjoyed daily.  Five Fig daughters are retained at Heather Hill to produce the next generation of Cobs.   We foresee a bright future with our cobs; a future that will always include Fig.   Fig is twenty-two this year and has some gray hair over his eyes.   A great friend and faithful partner, his progeny ARE Heather Hill Farm.
