Dixie Blue Duchess, now 24, is by Findeln Blue Danube and out of CC Dawn. Bred by Coleman Cowan, she was foaled while on lease to Wayland Carlisle at Heart of Dixie, hence her Dixie prefix.All of her foals carry the Gayfields prefix. Each contributed to the 8058 Dam points which won the first Dam Award of Excellence for Dixie Blue Duchess. Three of her foals have been awarded Individual Legion of Merit awards.
Her eldest daughter, Gayfields Call The Lawyer, has won 27 Supreme Championships, several High Score awards and was Champion of Champions at the Royal Winter Fair. Shown primarily by Ron Schwartz, Call The Lawyer earned performance points in ridden pleasure and currently has 2823 points. She is now a broodmare at Gayfields.
Gayfields Call the Cops, a frequent combined driving competitor, has 2842 WPCSA points won in hand, under saddle and in harness. Owned by Jackie Verkuyl, Cops has an Individual Legion of Merit. His stud duties have resulted in winners all over the west coast and beyond.
Gayfields Court Scandal was shown by owner Tracy Henderson to his Legion of Merit. Scandal showed in hand, under saddle and in driven classes. He left a legacy of excellent foals at Tracy Henderson’s Flying Diamond Farm.
Other produce of Dixie Blue Duchess contributing points are: Debbie and Rudy Schuster’s Gayfields Call The Boss, another winner in the world of Combined Driving; Gayfields Call Yo’ Mama! William Bowling’s winning broodmare and dam of Gameboy; Gayfields Call The Hotline, dam of Dennis and Darlene Mahlum’s young stallion by Dubbel LL’s Swifty; Gayfields Call The Operator owned by Ron and Sue Schwartz and Gayfields Call A Dixie Chick, still at Gayfields. Through these ponies, Duchess will continue to influence Sec. B classes for many more years. While Dixie Blue Duchess seems to have retired from the world of motherhood, you never know what surprises a Welsh pony may have in store.
