2006 INDIVIDUAL AWARD OF EXCELLENCE

Carrie MacWhorter writes...GASLIGHT CHWYRLWYNT LOM/AOE (Wendy) is the first Welsh Pony or Cob to win both her LOM and AOE in the same year. Her versatility, charisma and toughness allowed her to amass a total of 4,957 points, making her the third highest scoring Welsh Pony or Cob and the highest scoring section A to date. Always competitive, Wendy has National High Score Championships in English Pleasure, Hunters and for three consecutive years in Trail. She has also earned a National Reserve High Score title in Western Pleasure. Wendy had a great year in 2005. Wendy was able to claim the American, Central and Western National Champion in Adult English Pleasure AB and the Western National Champion and Reserve American and National Championship in Adult Hunters. We were beaten by our fellow Californian’s in Ohio but Wendy did take both the Western and Central National Championships in Adult Western for the year. None of her success has ruined Wendy. She already knew she was special. Those of us with the good fortune to work with her know she is special too. As a nine year old mare Wendy has many good show years left. With luck we will be able to compete in the future with Wendy and her foals.
