GAYFIELDS VINDALOO

2002 Individual Legion of Merit

GAYFIELDS VINDALOO is also the product of two Legion of Merit winners: her sire, *Sleight of Hand LOM, also has his Award of Excellence and first Order of the Dragon and her dam, Louisiana Lagniappe, received her Legion of Merit earlier tonight.

Vindy is six years old and currently has 2282 points, winning more halter points than she needed before starting a performance career at the Ohio show in August 2001. She completed her LOM at Tulsa in September 2002 where she was also double Supreme in the breeding division.

All of Vindaloo’s performance points have come from pleasure driving and carriage classes. When she began competing in the carriage driving classes the only cones she had ever seen were those she may have glimpsed through the trailer window while hauling through construction zones. Now she has finally decided cones are great fun and even beat the more experienced cone ponies when she won the class at 2002 Tulsa.

Vindaloo has been National High Score Sec. B Mare twice (including this year) and Reserve once behind stablemate Gayfields Call The Lawyer.

Bred at Gayfields, born at Gayfields and owned by Gayfields, Vindaloo currently lives with Ron and Sue Schwartz in Ohio. Sue is responsible for how she LOOKS in the ring, Ron is responsible for how she drives and shows in the ring, Arthur makes a great team with her in the breeding classes and Gail polishes her brass. Eventually she will retire and found a dynasty of ponies named for Indian food!
