Gail Thomson writes...Gayfields Word On The Street LOM, by *Pendock Masterpiece LOM and out of Louisiana Lagniappe LOM, is a chestnut Section B broodmare.  She has, so far, produced seven foals. All three of her foals by *Sleight of Hand, LOM AOE and Order of the Dragon contributed to her Dam Legion of Merit. Gayfields Say What!?!, her first Sleight foal, had a successful show career during his Junior years and now has his own get in the show ring. He is producing beautiful children from a variety of mares and besides good attitude and solid conformation, he has a reputation for being able to put a beautiful head with a large soft eye on all his foals, even those crossbreds whose mothers are not able to offer any help in that department. He won 450 points toward the award. Gayfields Racy Rumour, also by Sleight, had excellent results from limited showing. She was Supreme of her very first show, a WPCSA Double Gold and on her second outing, in the hunter in hand classes at Devon, without a "pro" handler, she was fifth in the two year old filly class. She won other Supreme and Reserve honors at WPCSA Gold shows. Gayfields One More Word! again by Sleight, was Supreme at her first show as a yearling, too. That year, 2006, she was High Score Sec. B Filly in the year end results. "Wordette" as we call this filly, will be back in the show ring in 2007. She currently has 465 points. Gayfields Word On The Street was shown at the 2003 American National Welsh Show and won the broodmare class under Judge Brynle Williams, but was defeated by her closely related stablemates Gayfields Vindaloo and Gayfields Honolulu for the Championship. She is a gentle and kind mare, a solid 13.2hh with many good years as a broodmare ahead.
