*KENTCHURCH CHIME
1999 Sire Legion of Merit
In 1997 all those who are associated with *KENTCHURCH CHIME were proud to receive his Individual Legion of Merit. They are again delighted at the ability and hard work of his offspring who contributed to his Sire Legion of Merit.
Chime is one of the first Welsh to be doubly honored. Even though only five offspring are needed for the award, at the end of this year six had accumulated 300 points each. Chime's first foal crop produced Madoc Sarah Margaret out of *Trevallion Princess of Wales. Sarah acquired her points in halter classes, under saddle and driving. She now lives in Wisconsin with the Haynes family. The Section C Pony of Cob Type, Madoc Bayberry, out of Madoc Bronwyn earned her points in halter and under saddle while in the ownership of Susan Baker of Laredo, Texas. She has now returned to Madoc to give riding lessons. Madoc Ruby out of *Trevallion Welsh Jewel belongs to Penny Nelson of Simonton, Texas. This elegant mare has been shown in halter and under saddle successfully. The 15.2 hand Madoc Patriot out of Princess Rosina acquired his points in halter, hunter and pleasure. He is still at Madoc and has an outstanding future in the dressage arena. The six year old Madoc Prince Henry out of *Trevallion Lady Diana is owned by the junior rider, Sarah Christy, of Montgomery, Texas quickly earned his points by showing in halter, hunter and pleasure. Sarah is now showing in Dressage and qualified for Region 9 Championships in 1999. Bristol Belle carries the standard for Chime in California and shows in halter, hunter and pleasure. Not to be overlooked are his children making names for themselves outside the Welsh world. Madoc Champagne, Caviar and Cartier are Half-Welsh combined driving winners. Madoc Coppertone Girl (Bayberry's full sister) is successful in the hunter world in Connecticut. Madoc Duke of York (Sarah's brother) and Half-Welsh Madoc Special Edition are USDF All Breed award winners for 1999. Chime's owner, rider and all his fan club congratulate him on this Honor. He is, as we honor him, lying in a stall in sunny Florida contemplating changes in his Grand Prix Freestyle and looking forward to starring in the Dressage presentation at Equitana 2000 this June.
