Caitlin Sewell writes ... *Lidgett Meredith LOM/AOE (Nebo Warrier x Lidgett Lady of Meredith), or Max as I call him, has been with me for just over four years and I could not be happier with him. I was thrilled last year when he received his individual Legion of Merit, and again this year when he earned the 1,800 points he needed to finish his AOE. Max has been a wonderful first stallion for me, always being a gentleman. Admittedly, I was a little intimated by him at first but I have grown to love him. He is quite the character and has many facial expressions that can always make you laugh. He is very much a pony, which can make riding him somewhat difficult at times. He likes to try to get me off every once in a while, and has perfected a sliding stop into fences! But like any pony, he truly is a joy to ride. He is now becoming a seasoned foxhunter, hunting with the first flight and occasionally leading the field. He never ceases to amaze people with his manners in the hunt field, even when he is forced to walk nose to tail with a mare. And of course, his presence always draws attention. I am looking forward to showing Max’s first foals for us under saddle this year. As for Max, I will continue to foxhunt him every week and maybe we will head out to the hunter/jumper divisions at USEF shows as well. I can’t retire him yet!
