LISETER ROYAL JOY
2004 Dam Legion of Merit

LISETER ROYAL JOY (Liseter Royalty x Liseter Gladness) was bred by Mrs. J. Austin duPont and foaled at Liseter Hall Farm in 1983. She was sold to Ms. Sophie duPont at the Liseter Hall Dispersal Sale in 1988 and was eventually purchased by Guy and Helen Clardy of Clarwood Farm where she spent the majority of her reproductive years. Joy produced all three of her “legs”, Clarwoods Joyful Star, Clarwood Captain, and Clarwoods Cavalier, while with the Clardy’s as well as several other wonderful foals that have gone on to be producers or performance ponies for their new owners.
Clarwoods Joyful Star was sold to owners on the west coast where she was a prolific winner in the in-hand classes. Clarwoods Cavalier was both a conformation as well as a performance class champion with his subsequent owners and went on to sire several of the ponies currently competing in ADS events as part of the 4-in-hand hitch of Ms. Claire Reid. Cavalier was gelded and is continuing his career as a driving/riding pony for children. Clarwoods Captain was gelded and retained by the Clardy’s for their show string through the 2004 show season earning National Champion 3 & Over Gelding honors for his last season with them while also excelling in the driving division.
Joy was sold to Paula Jo Bright of Thistleworth in 2002 with the hopes of producing a few more foals before her well earned retirement.
