Mary’s Melody LOM

Jackie Verkuyl writes...Mary’s Melody (*Smoke Tree Bronze Star x Mary’s Fandango) is the dam of an amazing seventeen foals which have earned nearly 3100 points through 2006.  Melody started her life at Mary’s farm in California, and soon thereafter made her way to Arkansas along with her sister Music after catching the eye of Gail and Joe Morris. Melody raised five foals while at Gayfields, most notably Gayfields Love Potion No. 9, who in turn is the dam of Gayfields Elixir.  In 1992, Melody made her way back to her home state of California as one of the foundation mares for Goldhills Welsh.  Potion joined Melody at Goldhills in 2005.  Melody has had 12 foals while at Goldhills, one by *Sleight of Hand LOM/AOE/OD, one by Talybont Quicksilver LOM, two by Farmore Publicity LOM and eight by Gayfields Call the Cops LOM/LOM/AOE.  Three of these foals by Call the Cops earned the legs of Melody’s LOM. Goldhills Mystique, a 2000 chestnut sabino filly, is perhaps the one that most closely resembles Melody. Mystique is a Supreme Champion and performance champion on her own, earning 799 halter points and 258 performance points through 2006.  Goldhills Most Wanted is a palomino colt who has been an eye-catcher since birth.  Most Wanted is the herd sire at Bridlewood Welsh.  He has earned 734 points in hand through his three year old year and we are expecting a great performance career from him in the future.  Goldhills Maverick completed his leg of Melody’s LOM as a two year old with an outstanding year culminating in his own National Championship!  Maverick is the herd sire at Sterling Creek Welsh.  Melody, through her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren has left quite a mark in the Welsh world.
