Ozark Let’s Rock LOM/AOE

(Severn Sirocco LOM x Alra Jasmine)

Sometimes you acquire a pony for one reason and end up loving them for a host of other reasons.  Such is the case with Ozark Let’s Rock LOM/AOE.  Lettie was acquired to finish out her Dad’s, (Severn Sirocco) Sire Legion of Merit.  After showing her for a year we turned her over to Ruth and history was in the making.  Lettie has been National Driving Champion in the WPCSA, USEF National Driving Champion, and WPCSA Carriage Driving Champion for the past five years.

Ruth and Lettie have been wonderful ambassadors for the Welsh breed in numerous Pleasure Driving shows.  Lettie’s presence in harness is phenomenal and when she starts her Daddy’s ground covering trot, well, you had better watch out.  Lettie, however, would prefer to be loved on by little kids.  Although she was unbroken we entered her in the Leading Rein class and she was Champion in that for 2004.   During 2005 Sally Ross had a hair brained scheme to see what Lettie would do in the Child’s First Pony.  Thanks to the excellent riding of Mills Chenault, Lindsay Kornberger, and Carrie Lemke, Lettie delighted us all by winning the Child’s First Pony for 2005.

Lettie excels in the Pet Pony Obstacle Class.  She will not step on the smallest child and has conquered the fears of many children who otherwise would not have been able to show their pony.  All children clamor to lead the roan pony in Pet Pony and she has done many courses at one show just to give the timid kids a chance to enter the ring. Lettie is going to retire to the pasture for 2006 where she will reign supreme for many years to come.
