ROLLINGWOODS EASY AS L

2004 Individual Legion of Merit

ROLLINGWOODS EASY AS L How many times in life are you given a second chance to fix a mistake? Such was the case with Rollingwoods Easy As L. “Elliot”, by Gayfields Big Easy and out of Gayfields Mona L AOE/LOM, was foaled in 1995 and was sold from Rollingwoods as a weanling because we had “too many ponies”.  As fate is sometimes fickle we were offered a second chance at this pony and purchased him back as a four-year-old. Joanna formed a special relationship with him and excelled in Hunter and English Pleasure classes but his biggest attribute was his attitude. As one Hunter trainer put it, “It doesn’t matter where she puts him at the fence, he always jumps well.”  Elliot is always willing to work and will come running up to you at the sound of his name. He was thrown into a Western Pleasure class in 2003 to fill the class and ended up in 2004 as WPCSA Adult National Champion. Our local trainer loves to “borrow” him for dressage shows and he is a wonderful ambassador for the breed there. His temperament is such that at one show this summer we had two small children having a contest to see which one could get his back legs the “whitest.” The true test of a stallion is in the breeding shed and we are very pleased with his offspring. Like Elliot they possess a tremendous work ethic, a sweet disposition, and unfortunately for the braiders “lots of mane and tail.”
