2001 Individual Legion of Merit

    Rollingwoods Rockateer (Severn Sirocco X CC Serenade) was foaled in 1992. Rockateer was a show stopper from the beginning. Owner Tracy Henderson continues, "We first saw him at the Gulf Coast Fall show in Lufkin, Texas. I fell in love with him at first sight. Much to my surprise, on an impromptu visit to Rollingwoods Farm, Larry amazed me as well as Ruth and Joanna Wilburn by asking if Rockateer was ready to load.

    WOW! What a Christmas present he turned out to be. Rockateer has a way of stealing your heart. He has done it all and he has excelled in all he does. Rockateer is a versatile Section A and a great ambassador for the Welsh breed.

    "Rockateer won his Legion of Merit by showing and winning at halter, driving, hunter, trail, English pleasure and Western pleasure with help from Ruth and Joanna Wilburn, Sally Ross Davis, Juliette Balette, Larry and Tracy. Rockateer was also driven by our son Kirt Henderson his first time ever showing and he did very well. Rockateer has finished 2001 with a bang. He has sired our first homebred Supreme Champion Flying Diamond Whirlin Merlin.

    Rockateer’s children are following in his footsteps and proving how wonderful and versatile the Section A Welsh Mountain Pony can be. Aside from his usual duties Rockateer is a super cow pony and loves to gather and sort cattle, once again, proving himself a true Welshman.

    Now half way to his own Sire Legion Of Merit, he is following in the footsteps of his wonderful sire, Severn Sirocco. Rockateer will continue to sire great foals and steal the hearts of those new to the Welsh breed.
