A-35943 Rollingwoods Classic Rock LOM/AOE

(Severn Sirocco LOM x CC Serenade LOM)

Sally Ross Davis writes of ROLLINGWOODS CLASSIC ROCK LOM/AOE ... When CC Serenade had her last foal who was by Severn Sirocco OD/AOE/LOM, we were a little disappointed in the tiny creature.  We named the foal Rollingwoods Classic Rock and retained her because she was the last offspring of one of our most successful pairings.  As she turned three, we broke her to drive, and she was very quiet from the start.  She did well in driving with Ruth as whip for the next several years, winning year end awards in leading rein and small pleasure driving.   Meanwhile, Bob and Mary Zurbrick had contacted us about finding Bob a suitable driving pony.   Since Classic was not being used, we sent her to Bob and Mary with the condition that we would repurchase her if they no longer wanted her.   Fast forward several years, Mary has become sick, and Classic would have to be returned to us.   We met Bob and Mary at the Missouri show, and they pulled a beautiful little white pony off the trailer with the whitest tail you have ever seen.   Surely this was not Classic but boy how she had matured.   We entered her in halter at that show and she ended up Supreme Champion.   Even better, we rode her that night for the first time and then sent her into the ring the next day in child’s first pony.

Classic had found her niche in life, taking care of children. She was leased for a short time to the Lemke’s in Nashville, TN and they got her started over fences. Although she puts no more effort into jumping than is absolutely necessary, she is rock steady over the fences.   She continued her winning ways in driving and leading rein but now added short stirrup to her repertoire of tricks.   We will be forever grateful to her for taking care of our niece, Kelli West, in her first year of showing.   Classic teaches you to ride to the center of the jumps because, if you don’t, Classic will choose not to jump.   Classic was supposed to retire upon receiving this award but Turner has decided to do short stirrup so it is up to her to teach another child to ride.   We are trusting her with our future, and we can’t imagine it in better hands.
