2008 HALF-WELSH sIRE Award of Honour

A-32339 Severn Gambol LOM/AOH

(Stadacona Crickieth x Severn Playful)

Severn Gambol LOM/AOH, owned by Peggy Marshall of La Plata, Maryland, has already achieved his Individual Legion of Merit with numerous championships in halter, small hunter, pleasure and driving.  As a sire, Gambol’s pure Welsh offspring have amassed over 8,000 points to date resulting in Gambol obtaining his Sire Legion of Merit.  Now, with limited Half-Welsh offspring on the ground, Severn Gambol has achieved his Purebred Welsh Sire Half-Welsh Award of Honour.  Gambol’s first leg of his AOH was achieved through Zafir Comet, owned by Michelle Phillips of White Hall, Maryland.  Zafir Comet, a gorgeous gray gelding, was shown in halter and performance by his owner/breeder and continues to this day to be Michelle’s favorite pleasure mount.  Gambol’s second leg was acquired through Gamblin’ Heart, a beautiful bay roan gelding out of Severn Queen of Hearts.  Gamblin' Heart was bred and shown by Susie Weigand to many wins in halter and performance.  Gambol’s third leg, PM Paddington Bear is now owned and loved by Laura Langley of Crofton, Maryland.  Shown in hand by Susie Weigand, Paddington achieved tremendous success in the Welsh as well as the in Pony Hunter Breeding ring, with top ribbons at Devon and Upperville.  Paddington continues to compete in the Half-Welsh hunters with Laura.  Gamble With The Wind, bred and owned by Bobby Lindsley of Leonardtown, Maryland makes up Gambol’s fourth leg.   Gamble With The Wind continues to accrue points, as he is not only active in Bobby’s busy lesson program at his A Moment In Time Farm, but he regularly competes at local hunter shows as well as the Welsh shows with numerous child riders from beginners to advanced.  Most of his points were acquired just this past year with 14 year old Arden Morgan, also of Leonardtown, Maryland in the irons.  This pony is the quintessential “Solid Citizen” for all of his young riders and will likely remain with Bobby’s riding program for many years to come.  The last, but not least, of Gambol’s five legs was achieved through Kathy Bridgwater’s lovely 2007 Welsh/Thoroughbred filly, All Doll’d Up.  Shown by her owner/breeder and Susie Weigand, she started her career winning on the line as a weanling and continued her winning ways as a yearling.   As a yearling, she was Reserve Champion of the Maryland Pony Breeders Yearling Futurity in 2008 and was champion Half-Welsh on numerous occasions in 2008.  All Doll’d Up is the 2008 National Champion Half-Welsh Colts & Fillies.

Severn Gambol LOM/AOH and PM Ponies would like to congratulate and thank all of these breeders and owners for their hard work and achievements.   It is wonderful to know that these ponies are loved and many continue to be doted on by their original breeders and owners.
