2007 Sire Legion of Merit

A-28760 TRI-EF COGNAC LOM

(*Coed Coch Pernod x Aquila Curlew)

Diana Fisher writes of TRI-EF COGNAC LOM ... Late in 1981 Aquila Curlew (by *Clan Dash) was offered for sale in the Welsh Roundabout Magazine, in foal to the 100% Coed Coch stallion, *Coed Coch Pernod, and to be Pernod’s First foal in the USA.  An hour later a 5-generation pedigree was on paper and Diana Fischer knew:  That Was IT, she HAD to have it (a Christmas present!) and … the foal had better be a stallion quality colt and chestnut!  It was March of 1982 when Aquila Curlew arrived at Tri-Ef Ranch.  When Diana’s Christmas present finally became "Un-wrapped" on May 3, 1982, he was ALL Diana asked for and More! There was her ‘Santa Claus’ and what a job he did for us since!

From Tri-Ef Cognac’s first show as a 3-year-old in Ventura where he won his class and Grand Champion Section A, he has won halter and pleasure driving championships everywhere; including 1994 Western National Grand Champion Section A. He even won a Roadster Under Saddle class. He sired numerous winners in halter and performance; and has several foals around the nation thanks to transported semen. Cognac’s get were shown in Get-of-Sire classes, winning many of them.

One important event was a son of Cognac was sold and exported by Tri-Ef Ranch to Hokkaido, Japan, in Spring 1997. This was the first time that any Welsh was exported off of this continent! This colt is Tri-Ef Fame-n-Fortune out of the lovely Seamair Crusader daughter Tri-Ef Glyndwr Fable.

So it’s a great finale for Diana Fischer’s retirement for her ‘Santa Claus’ to earn the WPCSA Sire Legion-Of-Merit! The get contributing his required points were: Tri-Ef Hannelore; Gaslight Siwgr Baby; Coffing Oaks Charisma LOM; Tri-Ef Hailstorm and Coffing Oaks Brandy.
