(Farmore Publicity x Oz Magic Bell)

Sue Yee and Tracy Green became the best of friends many moons ago when their beloved Arabians shared stalls at the same barn.  Together they purchased a beautiful, small Arabian mare with the hopes of one day breeding her to the “perfect” pony stallion.  Tracy loved the Welsh breed and was able to make contact with Tammy Burgin of nearby Farmore Farms.  Both were impressed with the quality of Tammy’s stock and in particular with the show record, conformation and personality of her then stallion Farmore Publicity, aka Merlyn. A breeding was planned, so Sue’s husband, David, was “dragged” into the picture, since he had the money.

The following year on a very nippy March morning, a big bundle of joy emerged, and their lives were forever changed. “Gracie” charmed David enough to steal him away from his great love for bird watching into agreeing to handle her in the breeding division as a yearling. Her first time out she took champion under one judge and reserve under the other. They were all hooked. With encouragement and mentoring from Tammy they learned how to allow Gracie to continue to impress so that by her third year she was regularly taking Championships and Reserves in English and Western Pleasure and in hand, shown usually by Breezy Mastel Nelson. That year she ended up taking National Reserve Championships in both Adult English and Western Pleasure.  As a four-year-old Gracie kept up her work and eventually was National Adult Western Half-Welsh Champion and third nationally in Adult English, usually with Megan Burtness and Tracy at the helm.  As a five year old jumping was added to her repertoire, and with the help of Breezy and Julie Lockwood, Gracie again continued to tackle each new discipline very well and brought home the 2006 National Adult Hunter Championship.

At the start of the 2008 season Gracie was elusively short some halter points to qualify for her AOH, so “team Gracie” of Maureen Ferrell and Tracy took care of things by May.  With her goals met and exceeded, Gracie currently resides at D’Alonzo Ranch in Stockton, CA with two of three of her mothers (Tracy & Belle – momma Sue tends to the herd) and continues to impress us in trail and dressage.

Thanks to all in the wonderful Welsh family who have welcomed us and given us so much support and guidance, in particular Tammy, Breezy, Megan, Julie, and Maureen.  It really does take a village to raise a Multiple National Champion.
