2003 Individual Legion of Merit

    WINDROSE COBY came to BridleWood Welsh well on his way to his LOM.  Actually, Coby earned all of his required performance points and most of his breeding points with previous owner, Rosie Lane. 

    I always enjoyed competing with Rosie Lane, but Coby was always the pony I could never beat.  He and Rosie were such a perfect picture together.  I always considered it a privilege to take second to this team.  Well, you can imagine my delight when the Lanes offered Coby to me in February of 2002.  Actually, it was a complete chance happening I even discovered Coby was for sale.  I had run across Terry Lane’s e-mail address on the internet and just happened to send a “Hello” message and the response I got back was definitely more than I had bargained for.  The Lanes had decided to sell Coby!  In a matter of a day I was the new owner of Windrose Coby and could not have been more excited. 

    Coby has continued his winning ways during the past two seasons with his new owner Megan Blythe and his Jr. Rider Hayden Gearhart with multiple State, Region, and National Championships.  Coby has been a dream come true and has even added to his areas of expertise by recently learning to Drive just in time to compete in the SLWPA Halloween Haunt show in every division and win the Championship prize, an electric Scooter.  We are extremely honored to own such a talented pony and look forward to many more years of riding and showing Windrose Coby.
