Nistar Blazing Kansas at the National Dressage Pony Cup

Written by Cindy Bellis-Jones

On July 31, 2009, we had the wonderful opportunity to be a part of the National Dressage Pony Cup held in Wilmington, OH in association with Cincinnati Dressage Tradition, LLC.  This year a Breed Show was added with various breed classes as well as Stallion, Mare and Young Pony classes.

We entered our black Section A Welsh Pony stallion, Nistar Blazing Kansas. We felt very fortunate indeed when he was chosen Champion Pony Stallion in a strong class including Haflinger and Fell Ponies.  We went back into the ring to compete for Champion Mature Pony and were again delighted that Kansas was selected.  Our final trip into the ring awarded Kansas with the Grand Championship of the 2009 National Dressage Pony Cup Breed Show.

The show was very well run and we felt very warmly received by all.  It was a pleasure presenting our pony to highlight the wonderful conformation, temperament and movement for which the Welsh Breed is so well known.
